Here's a quick wrap up from behind the scenes of my shoots for the Winter issue of Edible Orlando 2015!

Local Roots, Lake Helen ft. Hinckley's Fancy Meats

Honestly, before this shoot, I hadn't a clue as to where Lake Helen was. But brewing in the quaint little town of Lake Helen, not far from Deland, is the lovechild of Local Roots and Hinckley's Fancy Meats. Emily Rankin of Local Roots strives to provide people with locally grown produce and greens, while bringing in the expertise of Matt Hinckley as purveyor of meats, at their new storefront. Matt has traveled the world, immersing himself in different culinary cultures, and brought back with him a zero-waste mentality that he has brought to Central Florida. After an introduction to the space that will soon be the only acceptable place to get food in the Lake Helen area, we hopped over to the newly planted Local Roots farm only a few blocks away. No official open date yet, but more info can be found in this issue of Edible!
